Lon Gross
Lon is a passionate, multi-talented filmmaker based in Vancouver, Canada. He has created films for brands such as Telus, YVR, Top Hat and Lululemon.
Lon’s work ranges from documentary to narrative to commercial, and he leans heavily on handheld, direct cinema, and cinéma vérité approaches, as a means to seek out truth and help people contextualize complex issues.
Lon is particularly interested in creating compelling cinematic stories that support sustainability and socially responsible endeavours. In Lon’s film, Chance to Dance, he helped secure funding for a non-profit dance program that works with children in inner city schools. In Lon’s continued work with Unbuilders, he is helping raise awareness about the devastating impact of home demolition, and new alternatives that will help change the industry and save our forests. Lon’s work on the docuseries Red Chef Revival, helped break down stereotypes around Indigenous food and culture across Canada.
Lon also enjoys creative projects such as narrative films and music videos, and sees the mediums as a great way to collaborate with fellow artists and create an experience for audiences that is greater than the sum of its parts.
